Christmas & New Year now seem such a long time ago as we are half way through January.
Brody is nearly four months and is doing really well. My anxieties about having a new baby are passing as we both get to know each other and I now know what each small gurn and facial expression means and can tell when he is tired, hungry, gurney or happy. He is also going longer between feeds and has developed his own routine during the day such as a wee nap around 10 am and a long sleep when we are out in the pram with a long spell awake between tea time and his bath before bed. He is also much more aware of his surroundings and it is lovely to see him react to things around him. There are certain toys that he prefers to hold and nuzzle :) and some things that make him giggle. He also has big smiles for familiar faces especially his Daddy's and will give him a huge open mouthed grin when he comes home from work. His Dad does have the type of face that can display expressions well and will greet Brody with a big smiley HI YA which might have something to do with it lol. It is lovely to watch him developing and he has also rolled over himself which was a lot of hard work for him but he got there in the end.
He has had his last lot of immunisations today and has reached anther milestone and we will be able to take him swimming now. The Health Visitor is coming to see him on Friday for his four month development review and I think she will chat about weaning as well then. You hear all different things about weaning and people give lots of advice or talk about what they did. I can't remember what I did with my daughter it's funny how you forget these things. I do know that we are advised to wait until babies are six months now and Brody although he is a big boy (16lbs 4oz ) he still seems satisfied with his milk. He has started to watch us eating which is one of the signs he is getting ready and this is quite amusing to see the curiosity on his face.
I would be interested to hear how other mums and babies got on with weaning so please feel free to leave any comments :)
