"Theres just too much poo"

Big sister offered to change a dirty nappy tonight while i was preparing dinner. However she ended up phoning the house from upstairs on her mobile saying oh mum theres too much poo I just can't, come upstairs, please,  help ! Was really funny :) She also says that she appreciates me more now that Brody is here as she can see what i must have done for her when she was a wee baby. Nice to be appreciated especially by a teenager !

Oh I can hear movement on the baby monitor lets hope I haven't spoke too soon lol

Memory Loss

Oh and I forgot too mention in my previous post that this memory loss I have is chronic! I keep repeating myself and sometimes in a conversation my words get all jumbled up!

Apparently the hormones are to blame for this as well. It did start during pregnancy but has become worse after delivery when it took me around three days to remember my little ones name (apologies if I have mentioned this previously) This was really embarrassing as the midwifes and other people would ask what did you call him and my reply would be " I can't remember but it begins with a B" I am sure they must have thought I was loopy or was experiencing some bonding issues.

I am glad to say that I remember his name now but sometimes not much else!

Hormones & Sleep Deprived

Had a terrible day the other day as I felt really tired and crabbit! I am blaming the lack of sleep and my mixed up hormones. Apparently it can take a year for your body to recover after having a baby :{
Not sure if that's true or not- anyway Brody was only up once last night so my mood and life is brighter today, although it is peeing down outside!

My little one is just a delight and although I feel frazzled it is my daughter and loving partner who seem to get the brunt of it. I nagged Chelsea so much that she did the ironing for me so it had the desired effect. My partner has also suggested that he helps with the night feeds ( although he is working) as It would seem that the continual lack of sleep has an adverse effect on me! He says he can cope with less sleep than me and going to his work. Although I am loving being a full time new mum I swear that a days work is slightly easier.

Good Intentions

It's been over a week since my first post, I had good intentions of posting something every day but have been busy and by the time my little one is in bed I have been too tired and tried to catch up on some tv viewing with my partner.

All is going well and Brody has had his first lot of eight week immunisations. He actually had a full nights sleep after these ( must have been after effects as he has only did this once) he is up twice during the night which isn't too bad considering his age, babies should come with health warnings re sleep deprivation. Mind you this starts during pregnancy and might continue for a while yet :}

The highlght of my week has been watching him become more aware of his surroundings and he has started reaching out for his toys which is lovely to watch the happiness & curiosity on his wee face :)

First Post

Well here goes..........

First post since creating my Blog and not sure if anyone will even read it!
Would love to hear from any new mums and to read about their daily experiences.

My little one and I attended " Baby Sensory Class" today and I felt like a right plum at first singing and making signs to him, especially when he would lie there sleeping. This is now our third class and he seems to be taking some of it in and watching what is going on. It is apparently great for their development and babies will even sign back before they develop speech- Amazing really. Got the feeling though that i might be enjoying it a bit more than him just now. One of the mums was saying that her little one is four months and she has just plucked up the confidence now to bring her baby to classes as she was worried about the baby crying. I felt the same too at first which is crazy really considering that that's what they do lol.

Also been out and about visiting people to show him off and have a wee chuckle to myself when people ask is he good ? What would they say if I said no he is terrible and a real pain ( not that he is of course ) its really funny what people ask and I even find myself saying he is a good wee baby!

Well off to bed now and hoping to get a few hours in before it's time for a feed :)
